International work

The regulatory framework for safety at sea and maritime transport is formulated to a great extent internationally, and binding international cooperation and the international development of regulations are of great importance to safety at sea in Norwegian waters.

Much of the work that takes place internationally, especially in the EU and IMO, has a direct impact on the services that the Norwegian Coastal Administration provides.

The Norwegian Coastal Administration therefore attaches a great deal of importance to participation in international forums to make a contribution to future developments in accordance with the Norwegian wishes and needs.
