The first Norwegian conference on e-navigation was held in Oslo on June 12th and 13th. The Conference will be an annual event to provide a national arena for discussions on e-navigation.
Nearly 100 participants from governmental organizations, maritime and technical industry, as well as research and development environments took part in the conference.
This year the conference was hosted by the Norwegian Coastal Administration, the Oslo School of Arctitecture and Design and ITS Norway.

40 Years Since the Bravo Blow Out – what has been done since then?
Many people remember the uncontrolled blow out at the “Bravo” platform in the North Sea in 1977. Some people also remember the hero of the moment, Red Adair, flown in to stop the spill. For those of us who work with emergency preparedness for oil recovery operations, the Bravo accident marks the beginning of the strengthening and development of Norwegian emergency preparedness for oil recovery operations.
