The Norwegian Cruise Conference 2027: Registration Now Open

How should the cruise industry meet future requirements for preparedness, sustainability, and safety? On 28 January 2027, key stakeholders from the national and international cruise industry will meet experts from Norwegian maritime authorities in leading positions. This is where knowledge will be shared, experiences exchanged, and important issues discussed. Registration is now open.

For many years, The Norwegian Cruise Conference has established itself as the leading forum for dialogue between the cruise industry and Norwegian authorities. The conference brings together representatives from international and national cruise lines, expedition cruise operators, ports, industry organizations, and key maritime authorities for a day of professional updates, knowledge sharing, and discussions on the future of the industry.

The next conference will take place in Ålesund on 28 January 2027.

The conference will focus particularly on emergency preparedness, sustainability, and the green transition. Interest in the event is consistently high, and it is usually fully booked well in advance. Participation is limited to 125 attendees, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is available here. More practical information below.

More Important Than Ever

The cruise industry is facing a period of significant change. New environmental regulations, increasing expectations for emissions reductions, and the need for enhanced preparedness and safe operations in Norwegian waters are creating new challenges for both industry stakeholders and authorities.

To succeed in this transition, strong dialogue and close cooperation are essential. The Norwegian Cruise Conference provides a unique platform for discussing challenges, sharing experiences, and identifying solutions that can contribute to a safe, sustainable, and competitive cruise industry.

Cooperation and Preparedness in Focus

A dedicated session in the programme will combine short expert presentations with panel discussions and audience Q&A. Representatives from the industry and public authorities will discuss opportunities for increased cooperation, operational coordination, search and rescue collaboration plans, and joint preparedness development. The aim is to strengthen mutual understanding and contribute to enhanced safety and emergency preparedness along the Norwegian coast.

A Meeting Place for the Entire Industry

Among the contributors to the conference will be representatives from cruise lines, maritime authorities, the police and PST, national and international cruise associations, and a dedicated representative from Svalbard.

The conference provides participants with up-to-date insights into regulations, safety management, emergency preparedness, environmental requirements, and industry developments affecting cruise traffic in Norwegian waters. At the same time, it serves as a valuable venue for networking and dialogue across organizations and sectors.
