Vessel Traffic Service (VTS)

The Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) is an international standardised service that is operated by the Norwegian Coastal Administration in Norway to ensure safe passage, efficient navigation and protection of the environment.

  • Navigation rules

    The Maritime Traffic Regulations contain navigation rules in certain waters along the coast and at Svalbard. Also, separate navigation rules apply to traffic separation systems and recommended routes in the Norwegian economic zone.

    The safety fee applies to vessels in waters that are monitored by a Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) centre.

    Book a pilot and send arrival and departure information to Norwegian authorities and ports.

  • Wave Forecast

    See forecast for selected fairways and areas on the Norwegian coast.

  • ArcticInfo

    Get voyage-related information for safe navigation in Arctic waters.
