Work Package 5 in IMAROS 2 focuses on shoreline clean-up following spills of low-sulphur fuels. The aim is to improve understanding of how these oil types behave when they reach the shore, and what this means for the choice of methods and equipment.
Through practical testing on different shoreline types, the aim is to provide a more realistic picture of how challenging the clean-up operations may be and which measures actually work under varying weather, wave and temperature conditions.
